If you are a Brit in the UK you will relate to this. If you are a Brit coming to the USA it is valuable stuff to know. If you are American you will know how lucky you are. If you are in the UK – Sorry but a few home truths. The Rest of the World – Comment as you wish.
I am 34 years old. Married. Have 3 children ( One American) and a Chihuahua from Mexico. Having lived in the US for six years I have decided it is time to see the ‘Real America’. I have visited Las Vegas, New York, Florida and most tourist areas but have yet to experience the real people of the USA. I need to eat BBQ in Texas, a beer in Nebraska, get cold at International Falls and understand why people drink Iced Tea. It should be warm with milk and sugar!
I too, want to bring a bit of England to you too. Teach you the rules of cricket, explain we do not all live in London and educate you on the English language (Trousers not pants, sweets not candy, pop not soda etc)….
So what does a Brit like abut the good old US of A? This blog highlights what I think are some of the stuff that makes this country great. ( both serious and humorous). I will also be providing diary updates from my travels as I write my blog.
Follow my journey around the USA! I want to hear your recommendations? What is special, unique about your town? What makes your town a ‘proper America town? Leave your comments or send me an email. You may see the Visiting Brit on your street!

What a cool blog! I can’t wait to share it with my husband who is a Brit. We have been living in the States (South Carolina, near Charleston) for almost 4 years now, leaving the hustle-and-bustle of London behind.
Best wishes on your blog!
Cheers,
Denise
